San Martino di Castrozza, Passo Rolle, Primiero
Unparalleled nature, top skiing and gastronomic pleasures
Possibly the most panoramic ski area of the Dolomiti Superski circuit with 60 km of perfectly groomed ski runs immersed in Parco Naturale Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino, plus 3 snowparks, 2 ski schools and more than 100 ski instructors.
“New for the 2018/19 winter season - 10-seater “Colbricon Express” cable car that replaces two chairlifts in the Ces area in San Martino di Castrozza for a greater experience of the Malghe Carousel.”
High altitude means longer winters, snow falling from November to late April, purer air and the beauty of soaring rocky mountains. Trentino basks in the splendour of its mountains, like the much celebrated Pale di San Martino, Unesco World Heritage Site.
A ski holiday in this area is all about rewarding experiences and tangible pleasures. The Malghe carousel is a perfect example: 45 km of top quality ski runs and gourmet stop-overs where you can savour delicious traditional dishes. The Paradiso run in Passo Rolle will instead satisfy your thirst for thrills. After an action-packed day, you can feast your eyes on a rare spectacle that has been gracing these mountains for millions of years: the Enrosadsira (or alpenglow), when the Dolomites peaks are awash with the deep pink and crimson hues of the sunset. At nightfall, you can continue to enjoy the serenity of the mountains while skiing on moonlit slopes.
Freestylers can enjoy 2 snowparks: Rolle Railz Park and San Martino Snowpark.
Of course, it’s not all about downhill skiing and snowboarding. There’s plenty of space to practice Nordic skiing too. In San Martino di Castrozza - Passo Rolle you can tackle 30 km of tracks and enjoy the scenery at a slower pace.
Families are also well-catered for with many dedicated facilities, ski camps and snow playgrounds for the little ones, plus spacious terraces to relax in the sun.
Besides, the appeal goes beyond the slopes: snowshoes excursions through enchanting landscapes, like those of the Altipiano delle Pale, Val Venegia and Val Canali, plus horse-drawn sleigh rides, après-ski and nightlife events and plenty of opportunities to kick back and relax in chalet or a mountain hut.
The 2018-19 winter season will see the inauguration of the Colbricon Express, the new 10-seater gondola lift that will serve the Ces area, which is linked to Tognola, and appreciated for its range and variety of ski slopes, a little something for everyone.
