Nagià Grom

The frontline comes back to life in an amazing route

On mount Nagià Grom a rich itinerary allows to find out how soldiers struggled to survive the war.

There are memories that seem to emerge from the ground and hover like mist through the ruins of a world that exists no more. A visit to the Nagià Grom trenches recreates the atmosphere of the very hard – and often short – everyday life of First World War soldiers. Along the itinerary on mount Nagià Grom you can discover different environments: the ring shaped trench, the artillery stations and the sighting posts, that had been set up so as to be autonomous. From the combat areas it was possible to reach through protected trenches the vital centre of the camp, hosting the main facilities: toilettes, kitchens and troop quarters.

We can now visit the Nagià Grom camp thanks to the Gruppo Alpini from Mori who, since the early 2000s, endeavoured to bring back to life and make accessible this chapter of history.
