A splendid example of Venetian-style architecture dating back to the first half of the 16th century

Casa Marta di Coredo

The façade is embellished by a small charming loggia with wooden columns, onto which opens a small stone-framed door whose round arch rests on an architrave. On the upper floor there is a tall triple lancet window, featuring two central Doric columns and stone arches. Casa Marta lies in the centre of the village of Coredo, not far from the church square. It took the name of a woman called Marta, who lived in it and married a man from the Rizzardi family of the same village. Marta must have been a remarkable person because, besides the house being named after her, she gave the family, which she became part of, one of its many nicknames. In fact, the surname used for the Rizzardi family members is also Marta. Originally, the house belonged to the Coredo family.

While today, Casa Marta is owned by the Municipality which, after important restoration work, has allowed it to be opened to the public and it promotes several exhibitions and events here.

Casa Marta hosts the following exhibitions: Museo Etnografico della cultura contadina d’Anaunia (Ethnografic Museum of Folk Culture of Anaunia) and Museo dei Costumi Popolari (Museum of Folk Costumes).
