Val di Non

In Val di Non you can enjoy relaxing rural holidays surrounded by apple trees, castles and mountain landscapes

A straight of three plateaus sculpt the Val di Non region, with gentle inclines cultivated into apple orchards, deep canyons carved by the Noce river and its tributaries, villages and castles as well as forests and mountains.

The Val di Non is renowned for the quality of its apples and its landscape is seeded largely with vast apple or chards, a sight you have to behold during a full blossom and during the harvest season in autumn. But the area also boasts remnants of times long past:  the stunning castel Thun, palaces decorated in frescoes, museums and stately residences, small churches amidst the meadows and the breath-taking San Romedio sanctuary.

There are plenty of trails you can walk: on Monte Peller and on the mountains in upper Val di Non (Roen, Penegal, Macaion). Val di Non catches up with the wild Valle di Tovel with its lake, set in the Adamello Brenta Nature Park.
For budding cyclists there are the Val di Non cycling track and the Dolomiti di Brenta Bike trails. The Dolomiti Golf Club 18-hole green is considered one of the most beautiful in the entire Alpine area. Try out the canoeing excursions on Lake Santa Giustina or discover the Canyon Rio Sass and the Rio Novella river park.

Winter in Val di Non is full of alternative winter sports: here people compete in the famous Ciaspolada, racing through the famous track in snowshoes. The sport goes well with the niceties at the end of the day in the most refreshing and welcoming wellness centres. Lifts for downhill skiing and snowboarding run in Passo della Mendola and atop Altopiano della Predaia. There are interesting opportunities for families with children thanks to fun playgrounds on the snow.

Here you can still live in a rural, genuine world, trying local products like mortandela (a kind of salami), Trentingrana (Trentino parmesan) and of course the famous sweet-scented apples.
