Established as a study centre dedicated to the culture of Luserna/Lusérn, the Documentation Centre is a museum centre with sections dedicated to Cimbrian history and traditions, the Great War, the fauna of Alpe Cimbra and the melting furnaces of the Bronze Age.

It is a non-profit organisation of public interest, whose purpose is research, development, collection of historical vestiges and their valorisation.

The foundation collects and preserves historical documents of various kinds that have covered the village of Luserna in the past and, with the help of exhibitions and guided tours, it enhances the knowledge and cultural enrichment of visitors.

Through these different activities, the Documentation Centre promotes the employment and economic development of the Cimbrian German-speaking local community.

In its archives, the Centre preserves objects, documents and photographs related to the war on the plateaus, most of which have been donated over the years.

The exhibitions integrate the permanent exhibits of the halls in the Museum (Cimbrian Community, Visitor Centre of the Fortresses on the Plateaus, the Great War, Prehistoric Metallurgy, Fauna on the Plateaux, the Casa Museo Haus von Prükk (house museum) and the Pinacoteca R. Martin Pedrazza (art gallery).

In addition to promoting and disseminating local culture, the exhibition paths of the Documentation Centre are very appealing: with an average of more than 12,000 visitors per year, these exhibitions have attracted over 70,000 visitors to the museum over the past five years. This has confirmed its importance and visitors’ appreciation, both of the territory of the Altipiani Cimbri (Cimbrian Plateaus) of Folgaria, Lavarone and Luserna and of the Alta Valsugana, as well as the entire cultural panorama of the Autonomous Province of Trento.

During the summer months, it organises guided tours to the nearby Forte Luserna.
