This recently restored “Venetian-style” sawmill is located at 1487 m above sea level, between the towns of Ortisè and Menas, on the northern bank of Rio Valletta. Painstaking efforts have gone into total reconstruction of both the stone and wooden structures and the mechanisms. The building has four levels: at the top is the saw, the two floors below house the mechanical elements and on the lower floor stands the turbine that provides power for the entire structure.
