Limarò Canyon

The Limarò Canyon is a gorge hollowed out by the River Sarca to form outstanding natural sculptures.

Directions:
Take the SS 237 main road for Ponte Arche. As soon as you join the SS 237 main road, cross the bridge over the River Sarca, which is signposted San Lorenzo in Banale - Molveno and leave your car in a layby at the side of the road.
Descend on foot along the surfaced road as far as the filtration plant and then follow the dirt track up to where two terraces have been formed. The walk affords views of the Balandino Bridge, which dates back to Roman times.

Visitors can observe how the gorge has been formed by the River Sarca cutting through the red and grey limestone rock.
The descent takes about 45 minutes and is way-marked. Suitable for adults and children.
Before visiting the Limarò Canyon we recommend you enquire about the conditions of the path at the Terme di Comano tourist office.
