Strino Fort
One of the symbols of a terrible conflict fought at high altitude
Among the most interesting relics collected in the museum are the winter uniforms worn by Italian, Austrian and German soldiers
This Austro-Hungarian fort was built to defend the last stretch of road before the Tonale mountain pass and is the first structure in its fortified system. It is now a museum with many relics from the White War. After an introduction given by a short film clip, visitor panels explain the exhibits. A touch-screen allows visitors to find out more about the ort and the many fortifications in and around Vermiglio.
