Jacopeo d'Anaunia Path - VII stage
The seventh stage starts from Vigo di Ton and allows you to conclude the Jacopeo d'Anaunia Path by reaching the Sanctuary of San Romedio.
The last stage of our Path sees the arrival at the Sanctuary of San Romedio, the final objective. It is a pleasant walk of medium length, moderate gradients and fascinating landscapes on the lower Val di Non. We visit Castel Thun, a splendid mansion that gave birth to the powerful Thun family and at least ten bishops in Trentino and Austria. In Dardine we find the beautiful church of S.Marcello that preserves valuable medieval frescoes. Shortly afterwards we come to the Parish Church of Torra, in the square of which it is possible to admire the low and middle valley in which villages and castles stand out in a cultivated area setting. On the outskirts of Taio we find Castel Bregher. In Coredo, in the upper part of the village, stands Palazzo Nero, which was the seat of the bishop's jurisdiction and sadly famous for the witch trials of the seventeenth century. The Jacopeo Path that begins at the Basilica of the Holy Martyrs of Sanzeno, the main place of Christianity in our valley, has as its heart the Sanctuary of San Romedio, it the symbol of the life and experience of the pilgrim and hermit Romedio who, after renouncing worldly possessions, set off on the pilgramage to Rome ut was so enchanted by the harsh landscape of this valley, that he decided to remain and to devote the rest of his life entirely to God, to the good of the people and to an intimate contact with nature.

Last stage of our Camino arriving at the Sanctuary of San Romedio, the goal of our route. It is a pleasant medium-length walk, with contained elevation changes and charming landscapes of the lower Val di Non.
Those who still have time and strength in their legs can conclude the walk with this variant of great historical and naturalistic interest: Stage 7 - Naturalistic variant
We encounter Castel Thun, a splendid noble residence that gave birth to the powerful Thun family and at least ten bishops for Trentino and Austria. In Dardine we find the beautiful church of S. Marcello, which preserves valuable medieval frescoes. Shortly after, we encounter the Pieve di Torra whose square offers a view of the lower and middle valley where, amid vast cultivated areas, villages and castles stand out. At the outskirts of Taio we find Castel Bregher. In Coredo, in the upper part of the village, stands Palazzo Nero, which was the seat of episcopal jurisdiction and sadly famous for the witch trials of the 17th century. The Cammino Jacopeo, which begins at the Basilica of the Holy Martyrs of Sanzeno, the main Christian site in our valley, has the Sanctuary of San Romedio as its goal; the symbolic place of the human experience of the pilgrim and hermit Romedio who, after detaching himself from his substantial possessions, was captivated during his pilgrimage to Rome by the harshness of this valley to dedicate the rest of his life entirely to God, to the good of the people, and in intimate contact with nature.

Santuario di San RomedioSafety information
The Camino is well marked, with the presence of the stylized yellow shell symbol and various signs indicating the way. You walk ancient connecting paths between small villages and ancient roads leading to the sanctuaries that are pilgrimage destinations. There are short stretches of roads with low vehicular traffic.
As you might imagine, the passability of paths in a mountainous environment is strictly linked to contingent conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this sheet may have changed. Before departing, get information on the state of the path by contacting the refuge managers on your route, the mountain guides, the visitor centers of natural parks, and the tourist offices.

Roadbook
You start from the village square and, following the signage with the characteristic yellow shell that distinguishes the Cammino Jacopeo, you head towards Castel Thun, which was an important seat of the powerful Thun family that owned other castles in the Non and Sole valleys (Bragher, Caldes and Castelfondo).
You continue and encounter the recently restored little church of San Martino and the small village of Nosino, then you pass near Toss and cross the Pongaiola stream valley to reach Dardine. Here, a visit to the precious church of San Marcello is a must: a spectacle of 15th-century frescoes awaits us. You proceed towards Mollaro and then Tuennetto and arrive at the ancient Pieve di Torra, where you can admire a beautiful panorama of the valley.
You set off again heading towards Segno, where in the square stands the majestic statue dedicated to Padre Kino. Then you cross vast areas with modern fruit-growing facilities alternating with woods until you reach Castel Bragher. Afterwards, you proceed along the asphalt road, but pay attention to the modest vehicle traffic, and reach Coredo: "Fior de la Valada." Leaving the village, you walk towards the Coredo and Tavon lakes, walking part of the Viale dei Sogni. Upon arriving at the lakes, you can have a refreshing break before immersing yourself again in the woods that will quickly lead the pilgrim to the Sanctuary of San Romedio along a path initially steep that then runs alongside the Verdes stream.

Equipment
Anyone setting out on the walk and wishing to reach their destination without problems must wear a good pair of comfortable shoes, preferably with a carved sole (like Vibram) and ankle protection (like hiking boots), but which hold the foot firmly to avoid blisters or, worse, the risk of a sprain. It is also advisable to have a stick (or better yet telescopic poles) to help during the walk, especially in some more demanding sections.Localization
