Amid the pastures and ruins of the Great War, close to Rovereto

Trambileno, the name meaning "tra ambi i Leni" (between both the Lenos), is a plateau that descends in the N-W direction from Mount Pazul and penetrates the deep gorges of the stream Leno di Terragnolo and that of Vallarsa. There are thirteen hamlets, evolved from medieval mountain farmhouses, while the municipal centre is Moscheri. Porte and Dosso face out onto the city of Rovereto.
Worth a visit, also for its peculiar position on a rocky hill, is the Madonna delle Salette sanctuary (1856) the reconstructed version of the La Salette chapel, a cult imported from France.
Forte Pozzacchio (Valmorbia Werk), is the last great structure built by the Austro-Hungarian army during the Great War. Although unfinished, this fortress is huge and totally hewn out of the rocky promontory in one of the foothills of Mount Pasubio.
Boccaldo is the hamlet from where departs the road for the Lancia refuge (12 km distant), both destination and starting point for charming excursions at the feet of the Pasubio, the mountain destroyed by the grenades of WWI and which Nature is laboriously but powerfully making green again.
