Darè
Darè, a small town rescued from fires in the Adamello Brenta Nature Reserve
The original heart of this small town is found at the bottom of the Sarca River valley, skirting the Redena national road. Some of the homes saved from the fires which devastated the town present typical Rendena architectural features: wide saddle roofs covered in wooden tiles, wooden superstructures and granite portals. The ancient and recently restored Casa Cus is the last remaining example of a typical Rendena home where composite families worked together to carry out traditional, time-honoured rural activities.
The oratory of S. Rocco - constructed during the plague of 1579 and rebuilt in the 19th century - is a must for visitors.
Darè is part of the Adamello Brenta Nature Reserve and is the access to Val San Valentino. In the past, the valley was a popular and ancient route of communication with the populations which inhabited Valcamonica and many country houses line its path between San Valentino and its high mountain pastures. The area endows visitors with the opportunity to enjoy several excursions as well as gifting them with wonderful views over the Busa di Tione.
