Novaledo
Novaledo, 18th century churches and an age-old garrison
A centre focussed on agriculture and handcraft, Novaledo is located on the Rosa streem alluvial fan, which stretches down from Panarotta. The town marks the border between the land owned by Trento's and Feltre's Bishopric (traditional Alpine farmhouse of S. Desiderio, on the left-hand side of the provincial road, according to Conrad II's donation documents dated 1027). The Church of Maria Ausiliatrice of 1723 is located on the old state road together with the Parish Church of S. Agostino, which dates back to 1724.
Nearby, you can also admire the remains of Tor Quadra, which was once used to garrison an ancient draw-bridge barring the road at a set location.
