Malè
The gateway to the natural beauty of Val di Sole
In a sunny position on a plain at the confluence of the Noce and Rabbies rivers, in Malé you can dedicate your time to sports in summer and winter.
Where to find it
We are in the province of Trento, at 740 metres above sea level, and precisely at the centre of the triangle formed by the Brenta Dolomites, Madonna di Campiglio, and the Stelvio Nature Park: Malé has about 2,000 inhabitants and is an excellent starting point for summer and winter excursions.
What to do
Just a few kilometres from the Stelvio Nature Park, from the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park, and from the Spas of Rabbi, Malè is the perfect place for families with children as well as couples or groups of friends. A holiday destination that is perfect all year round, for those who love the mountains, mountain villages, the Alpine environment, and outdoor sports. In the heart of the town of Malé you can find the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, which dates back to 1500, and the Museo Etnografico della Civiltà Solandra, in the former Palazzo Pretorile, which is home to objects and tools of the traditional activities of the Val di Sole people: from crafts (working with wood, metal, ceramics) to agriculture, from cheese making to forestry.
We also suggest you visit the Segheria Veneziana (Venetian sawmill), a structure dating back to 1770, used for small sawmill activities and for educational activities, and the Fucina Marinelli del Pondasio, one of the few examples of hydraulic forge still operating and intact in the Alps.
As far as sports are concerned, all you have to do is choose: in summer you can try rafting on the Noce river, the Flying Park adventure park, and the Acquacenter Val di Sole public swimming pool, in addition to hiking and mountain biking.
In winter, on the other hand, skiing takes centre stage, together with snowboarding and snowshoe walks. In Val di Sole, you will find 3 wonderful skiing areas: the Skiarea Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta Val di Sole Val Rendena, the Skiarea Ponte di Legno - Passo Tonale, and the Skiarea Pejo 3000. With their 290 kilometres of slopes and 97 ski lift facilities, you will spend all days on the snow without ever growing tired of the landscape!
How to get there
If you are travelling by train, once you have reached the railway station in Trento you can go to the Trento Malé Mezzana Station, about 200 metres away. From here you can take the small train that connects the capital of Trentino with the towns of Val di Sole, some of which are also served by bus lines.
If you are travelling by car, on motorway A4 exit at Peschiera del Garda and continue on the A22 in the direction of Trento. From here, exit at Trento Nord and follow roads SP235, SS43 and SS42 in the direction of Malé.
